The President noted that the movement is based on long-standing traditions of friendship and mutual respect.
The first Row participants are Mr Sergey Lavrov – Foreign Minister of Russia, Mr Lenoid Slutsky – Head of LPDR Gosduma head of Foreign Relations, Guest Ambassador from Saudi Arabia, Konstantine Kosachev (speaker for Valentina Matviyenko) – Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Sammy Kotwani – President of Indian Business Association.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a welcome telegram to the participants and guests of the first congress of the International Movement of Russophiles, noting the mutual respect that binds Russians to other peoples. The telegram was published on the Kremlin website on Tuesday.
“At the heart of your nascent social movement are long-standing traditions of friendship and mutual respect that connect Russians with other peoples. These glorious traditions have been preserved even at the most abrupt turning points in history,” the report says.
The President stressed that the congress participants are united by their sincere love for Russia and its culture. “We highly appreciate your firm determination to resist the Russophobic campaign, your desire to develop dialogue and mutually beneficial humanitarian cooperation,” Putin added.
The head of state expressed confidence that the forum would be held in a creative and constructive manner, and also thanked the organizers of the event for the work done and wished success to the congress participants.
According to the organizers, the congress of the International Movement of Russophiles will be attended by the deputy head of the World Russian People’s Cathedral, chairman of the Tsargrad society Konstantin Malofeev, politicians and public activists from 40 countries.
